Copy trading between prop firm accounts
Copying your own trades across several funded accounts saves time. It can also cost you a payout if your firm reads it differently than you do.
Three different things called "copy trading"
- Your own accounts: you trade one account and the same trade is mirrored to your other accounts. This is the case firms most often accept, sometimes with limits on total exposure.
- Someone else's trades: signal services, trade groups or copying another trader. Many firms forbid this because the evaluation should test your own trading.
- Across firms: the same trade on accounts at different firms. Some firms watch for identical trades between unrelated accounts; check their wording.
What to look for in the rules
- The words "copy trading", "trade copier", "third-party EA" and "account management".
- Maximum combined allocation across your accounts at that firm.
- Rules on hedging between accounts (one account long, another short on the same symbol).
- Whether EAs are allowed during the challenge, the funded stage, or both.
Rules change. Read the firm's current rules page, not a forum post or a comparison table, and if anything is unclear, ask support and keep the written answer.
A short message to send your firm
"I trade my own strategy manually on one account and use a local trade copier to mirror the same trades to my other accounts with you. Is this allowed during the challenge and the funded stage?"
Technical risks of copying
- A frozen terminal: a slave terminal that stops copying leaves accounts out of sync. A watchdog that restarts terminals helps.
- Symbol names: EURUSD, EURUSD.r and EURUSDm are the same market on different brokers. The copier has to map them.
- Lot sizing: accounts of different size need lots scaled by balance, equity or risk, not a fixed copy.
- A rule breach on the master: if the master breaks a daily limit, copying that trade spreads the breach to every account.
How PropBlaster handles it
The PropBlaster copier mirrors trades from one master to your other MT5 accounts on the same PC or VPS, maps symbol names, sizes lots per account and restarts slave terminals with a watchdog. The guard checks the master first, so a trade that breaks your rules is closed before it is copied. It does not tell you whether your firm allows copying: that answer has to come from the firm.
Questions
Is copying trades between my own prop accounts allowed?
Often yes for your own accounts at the same firm, but firms differ and rules change. Check the current rules and ask support in writing.
Can I copy someone else's trades?
Most firms do not allow trading another person's signals during an evaluation. Check the rules before you do it.
